I love the movies from the 1900s up to the mid 1940s the best. The clothes, the dialogue, the slightly heightened acting style that is "real" but just a bit magical. Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes in the 1980s series captures that spark. If anyone ever finds a complete version of "Cleopatra" starring Theda Bara, call me immediately.
