About
I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in Harlem and the South Bronx, moved to Atlanta in 2012. I am so in love with classic movies so, of course, TCM is my favorite channel. It stems from my aunt and my grandmother taking me to the movie theater once every few weeks to watch 3 movies in a row in one day for only 25 cents... early 60s, in Harlem. When my granddaughter was 5 years old (she's now 14 years old), she asked me as I was about to grab my comfort food to sit and watch "The Little Foxes", she said, "Nana, why do you like black and white movies so much?" Before I could answer her, she said, "I know why, cuz you're old just like the movies, right, Nana?" I gave a little chuckle and thought about it and said to her, "wait, I'm not that old", which she clearly didn't understand, especially at 5 years old.
I am just so excited to be a member of the TCM Backlot Atlanta and meet other members who are lovers of the classics. Thank you, TCM, for having me as a member of this wonderful group!
One more note, I miss Robert Osborne but I think Ben Mankiewicz has been doing such a fantastic job in filling Robert Osborne's shoes, it is a pleasure seeing him as host of TCM.
