From last Wednesday's Emory Cinematheque Film Series screening of "A Matter of Life and Death":
We were extremely fortunate to see Sony Pictures EVP of Asset Management, Film Restoraton & Digital Mastering Grover Crisp introduce the new 4k restoration he spearheaded. He not only told us the story of this film's journey to 4k, but also screened a brief set of shots which wiped from the "starting point" surviving film asset to the 4k restored version.
The blurry photo below does not do justice to the incredible difference not only in the color's depth & vibrance but the detail of both the actors & the environments - truly breathtaking. Definitely an incredible bonus to a seeing wonderful film!
