South Pacific

Contrary to the backdrop ad for "Badtimes at the El Royale", TCMBacklotATL had an awesome time at today's TCM /Fathom Events screening of "South Pacific." The film proved to be far more than the lighthearted musical some expected with its, for the time, bold examination of racism and miscegenation.The majority had either never seen it on a big screen or never seen it at ALL! And side note to Ben Mankiewicz, we were all in agreement about the color filters lol! This made for fun & engrossing conversation when we adjourned to PURE Taqueria Brookhaven for food afterward. As member Sue Horn so beautifully put it "This is the kind of thing I was hoping for when I joined TCM Backlot."
