The woman taking the tickets (and MONEY!) said something about them adding new lighting to the garage and I guess this is their way to pay for it. I wasn't listening too closely as I was trying to fight off a migraine. The live score was so good and it was fun to see this on the big screen. I'd seen it once before while living in Chicago. They included a very funny Laurel and Hardy short involving ghosts. It was at the Biograph Theatre, also known locally as "the Dillinger Theatre" since that's where he was shot in the alleyway after seeing Manhattan Melodrama.

I was checking around and, although I'm not in a rural area anymore, I'm on a main street rather than in a neighborhood and I keep getting "Not available in your area" when I check other options. Ugh. I'll keep looking. I did see a forum where tons of customers are furious, so maybe a wave of anger will actually do something.

I wondered if calling would do any good. I'm still looking around for something else as well. It's so frustrating. I find it hard to believe more people watch "COZY" than TCM, so their excuse of low viewer numbers rings hollow to me. When you son finds something, please post the information. I keep missing "The Saint" movies on TCM. A few months ago I did see the Hiledgarde Withers movies with Edna Mae Oliver and she's so flipping funny.

I'm going to have to see the movies where David Niven is creepy. That is so funny. I always think of him as being so suave, but that could be because I mainly think of him in "Wuthering Heights" and "Murder by Death". If he's so good a creepy, it's a shame he and Vincent Price never made a movie together. Or did they?

Oh dear. I'm not as sad I missed it now.

How was "Baby Jane" on the big screen? I'm sorry I missed that one, but it can be difficult to get downtown in the middle of the week.

I love "The Abominable Dr. Phibes!" One of the rare horror movies I like. Vincent is definitely enjoying that role. (On a side note, when my mother saw the movie, it was shortly after my father had died and she was not happy with doctors. When the unicorn is catapulted and gores that doctor through the heart she laughed so loud and hard! She loved it.) Myrna Loy also did some great work in the silent era. She was usually a dark-haired temptress, so she really has great range. And Barbara Stanwyck is good in everything she does. Even that episode of "Charlie's Angels."

Bringing Up Baby is such a fun movie.

Dial "M" for Murder was so good. I'd never seen it before. Suspenseful and yet quite humorous as well. And dinner beforehand was so much fun. Great conversations and laughter and tater tots!

I only know anecdotes about him that are written in other biographies: like he was very much a bisexual and on the set of some film, another actor insinuated that Sanders had bonked Tyrone Power into having the heart attack which killed him, so Sanders stabbed the guy with a sword he was using for their sword fight. And that during the filming of "All About Eve" Sanders was married to Zsa Zsa Gabor and she showed up one day because she needed George to go shopping with her and the director said, "We're making a fucking picture, honey." I love Sanders' voice. Smooth. Even Shere Khan was seductive. He was great in "The Picture of Dorian Gray", "All About Eve" and so many others.

I wish I could get a copy of his autobiography "Memoirs of a Professional Cad". It's out of print and extremely expensive, but apparently he did not hold back at all with his opinions. I bet it's a great read.
