Thank you, Wayne, for organizing another enjoyable event at the Strand in Marietta Square. It was great to see everyone (and get out of the house to something fun for a change.) Metropolis is an incredibly good film and seeing it on the big screen was a real treat. So much detail in the sets and costumes that can be missed on the small screen. And thanks to the Strand for having great holiday decorations up. The lobby was beautiful.

It was great fun to see "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" on the big screen. The live music score was excellent and matched John Barrymore's performance very well. Unfortunately that parking garage across the street from the Strand that was free on the weekends and after 5pm is no longer free! I found out as I tried to exit. It cost $6, but I don't know if that's the "all day" price or if it was because I wasn't there for too long, since I couldn't stay for the dinner afterwards. I wanted to let people know because it had been such a convenient place to park for past events, but now they're charging like everyone else. I didn't want anyone else to be caught off-guard.

In Generally Speaking...
I woke up this morning to find TCM is no longer on my cable line-up. After an online search I found out that Comcast has moved TCM to a SPORTS PACKAGE!?!?! WtF?? Some comments stated it's because people are "cutting the cord" with cable so Comcast is trying to squeeze as many dollars out of its remaining customers as possible. Nice business practice. Anyway, someone at TCM needs to get this rectified. Can't they pressure Comcast? Or are we local chapter fans being abandoned completely? I neither want, nor can afford an extra package on the cable bill. Ridiculous.
